Beijing Cattle Farm
August 15, 2013

Sino Agro Food, Inc. has refurbished small cattle facilities in the old Beijing Cattle wholesale market. The facility now houses 300 head of big and small cattle to supply the company’s own small wholesale and retail shop, selling meat processed from its own "aromatic" cattle.
The Beijing wholesale market has a slaughterhouse and facilities for deboning and packing that SIAF contracts to process and sell "Organic Aromatic" beef in Beijing city, using the facility’s permits.

The Beijing business broadens SIAF’s geographic reach and reception to its products. This facility has also sold its beef to top hotels in Beijing, where the products were very well received.

Immortal Vegetables and HU Flowers Work Together
Live Longer; Prosper More
August 7, 2013

There’s been more rain this year than last, and the HU plants (also known as Dragon Fruit) are holding up well. This year, the company pioneered a new drying method for HU flowers, using Lychee Wood. The resulting flowers have tested very well, producing great taste with a distinct aromatic flavor.

Since the previously posted pictures, Immortal Vegetables have grown to approximately 1.6 meters, and look very healthy. These vegetables are known in Japan (“English Japanese”) as "snowsakurako."
We are packaging Immortal Vegetables into small gift packs, to be sold as organic health food. Current test results show .58 grams of selenium per kilogram. Trial sales will launch in August, with target pricing of $2.50 to $3.00 per 200 grams, equating to $12.50 to $15.00 per kilogram.

All in all, the company foresees a much improved year for our plantation!
Asia’s First Indoor Prawn Farm
August 1, 2013
Enping City Bi Tao A Power Prawn Culture Development Co., Ltd. (EBAPCD), also known as Prawn Farm 1 (PF1), began operations this year. The company is very proud to have constructed the first indoor prawn farm in Asia.
The facility is nurturing and growing out Mexican White Prawns and Green Prawns ("Big Giant Prawns"), which command a higher market price. One challenge for the Green Prawns is that this species tends to be quite territorial. To prevent cannibalization, the company has devised a system of dividers (pictured below) within the tanks such that we now can call them Green Peace Prawns, increasing the growing capacity per tank.

Baby prawn fries are nurtured in baskets for 3 -4 days before being released into the tanks
The company strives in all its operations to find technological or innovative means to increase productivity and yield.
Also known in Asia as "Big Giant Prawns," the full English name for the Green Prawns is "Giant River Prawn;" the Latin name is “Macrobrachium Rosenbergli," and the Chinese name is "LawZi." Our Mexican White prawns are known in the west as "Pacific Whiteleg" or "Western White Shrimp," or by their genus species "Litopenaeus vannamei."
Prawns reach marketable sizes of 80 pieces per kilogram, which allows at least six cycles per year. Each tank will grow at least 700,000 prawns to marketable size per cycle.

Prawns reach this size in about 17 days.
A system of plastic mesh rolls has been installed to keep the giant prawns safe and peaceful.
Advanced recirculating aquaculture systems keep the water clean and clear, producing healthy, tasty prawns.

"Immortal Vegetables" Crop Up
Live Long and Prosper
July 21, 2013

Immortal Vegetables
"Xue Ying Zi," are commonly known as 'Immortal Vegetables," owing to their very high selenium content.
The healthy vegetables were planted in purely organic soil, so officially qualify as organic produce.

Thirteen U.S. acres (about 90 Chinese Mu) of Immortal Vegetables are now planted. The plants grow to over two meters tall, and yield 4 KG of salable produce per plant. The crop can be turned over four times per year; however, this year’s late start will allow only two crop turnovers in 2013.
Still, the 2013 harvest is estimated to exceed 1,000 MT. The wholesale price is approximately $6,500 per metric ton.
